*2013*

We started off our New Year in the dreamiest way possible: A New Year's Feast (Black Eyed Peas, Ham, Cabbage and Cornbread), fancy drinks (champagne for us, cider for Eli), an award winning film (Toy Story) and an extravagant show (sparklers).... and I honestly cannot think of a better way to celebrate. :)

The New Year's feast I prepared....

Festivity time with my loves....

The week of the New Year was blah (weather-wise), It rained and rained. Here I was off work for the entire week and I was rained in with a 3 year old AND a husband (he was off also). And while I love them more than words can express, I needed to get them out of that house! LOL!

So Charlie and I had one common goal: Wear Eli out.

So we let him run the track....

Jump puddles....

Ride his Big Wheels....

He had soooo much fun, despite the rainy weather. :)

We also enjoyed plenty of good times while indoors.

We made time for some serious Lego building....

And had to stop by Rise Cupcakes one afternoon for a delicious treat....

I did take him to school one afternoon, so he could get some energy out and spend time with his friends.

He really loves his little classmates. :)

We had a few fun playdates with friends over the break also. :)

We met sweet Sara at Moody Gardens to go sledding and ice skating one day.

Eli wasn't too sure when he first started....

Then he got the hang of it....

He looked like a big kid walking his tube back....

Here comes Sara....

Sledding was fun! Ice skating was somewhat of a nightmare....LOL! Pretty sure we needed a couple of extra sets of hands.

Eli sure did look cute in his skater duds tho....

Eli and Sara were soooo sweet to let us Mommies get our fill of photos!

They even had some photobooth fun....

We ended our fun day with some fro-yo at Orange Leaf....

Such a fun day!

The next day (still rainy), we went to Max's Fun Jump with Eve.

The two of them jumped until they couldn't jump anymore....

On one of the nicer days, we met Eve at the park. :)

They had such a fun time running around and playing on the playground....

They also spent quite a bit of time watching the turtles....

And they made wishes (Eli wished for "more turtles") while throwing pennies in the fountain....

These two are just too sweet for words!

Eli's buddy Jake came over to play one day. :)

These two boys played and played....

They watched a movie....

By this point, they were both ready for nap..... Hehe

Such a fun playdate for the boys, Mommies and Aunt Leigh!

It was the best break yet! We did a lot of fun things and also were able to relax some.

2013 has bought so many wonderful things already....one of the most exciting being the future arrival of my best friend's baby girl!

I am about to burst from excitement overload for my dear friend Courtney!! She and Todd are over-the-moon excited and are anxiously awaiting for baby girl. I will keep you posted.

So since I am "Auntie" Courtney I was given the honor to host Courtney's Baby Shower. I wanted her day to be a lovely day to celebrate with family and friends.

I had the most fun planning and decorating. I did everything in purple and white with hints of Damask pattern to match her nursery.

The invitation....

I had a lot of fun with my Mommy making things for Courtney's Shower! The Diaper Wreath idea came from Pinterest. I had never made one before and thought it turned out pretty cute! :)

The setup....

I asked all guests to bring a package of Pampers, so I found this purple hamper for guests to put diapers in....

Courtney's Mother-in-Law, Mary Ann, prepared the most beautiful and delicious food....

Mary Ann has a lovely home and the setup was perfect!

Tables were set on the patio and it was such a beautiful day :)....

Guests were thanked with a purple and white themed Candy Bar (I had SOOOOO much fun preparing this!) as a parting favor....

They each received a personalized "Thank You from Teagen" bag to fill with sweets....

I think Teagen is going to be set!

I think everything turned out perfectly. Everyone had a fabulous time.

I am so blessed to have Courtney in my life. I met her 20 years ago--two silly, free-spirited teenagers. Who would've thought we would be hosting each others Baby Showers and being involved in the most important events in each others lives. I love her so very much and am so honored to have been part of such a special day.

Now baby girl just needs to make her appearance! :)

The day after the shower, I was able to see my brother's NEW HOUSE before heading back to League City!

It is a beautiful home....

Eli especially loved "the weally big stairs!"

I thought the window was sooooo pretty upstairs....

Thank you Chris and Val for letting us come by!!! I cannot wait to see it when everything is put into place. So excited for you two!
