It's amazing how time passes so quickly. I was uploading photos for this blog and couldn't believe some of them are from over a month ago....
Eli has grown so much over the past month! Literally. I have been buying him new clothes in size 3T. His 2T clothing is too short. Clothing has been a fun debate in recent times with my sweet Eli (*said with utter sarcasm*). He has decided he only wants to wear a.) clothing pieces that are brown b.) t-shirts with Cars movie characters "Lightning McQueen" and "Mater" and c.) shoes without laces. Needless to say, clothing battles at 5:45 am with a two year old are not exactly a good time and therefore, I have invested in a few more Cars t-shirts because I figure it's worth my sanity. Haha.
I have to share this picture. I got him dressed one day and he didn't fight me too much on his outfit even though he said, "No blue shirt!" I turn around and he is sitting on the couch with this hat on. It is a tad tight on his little head, so it smushed his wittle face. Love it!
I just love this little guy...
Along with physically growing, Eli has learned so much! He loves to talk and has new words and sentences to share each and every day. His new favorite thing to say is, "No. How about..." and he will try to make a deal. For example, I will ask him, "Eli, would you like to take your bath now?" He will say, "No. How about we go play bubbles?" It's hard not to laugh at him. :)

The weekend before Valentine's Day, my sweet friend Anne and I took our little ones to see "Sesame Street Live" at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The kiddos had a lot of fun and were really entertained watching the show. :)
Sara getting her groove on....
Watching the show....
The show was really cute! :)
You are not going to believe this, but I FORGOT MY CAMERA. I was sooooo bummed! Anne took tons of pictures and e-mailed them to me (and she was only able to e-mail a couple at a time), so THANK YOU ANNE!! :)
Sara and Eli were too funny! If we actually got one to look at the camera, the other would look away or run off. Busy, busy toddlers! Haha.

Ladies and gentleman, I think we have a winner....
What a fun day! Love these two little ones. :)

That night Charlie and I celebrated Valentine's Day at the house. I ran out early evening to run errands and when I came home he had this set up in the Dining Room....
The flowers were just beautiful! Here are a couple of pics I took just a couple of days later when they opened up....
Charlie grilled Filet Mignon for dinner and I boiled some shrimp and made some Cucumber Tomato Salad.
It was a perfect, quiet evening with my hubby. I love you Charlie! xoxo

The next day the weather was YUCK out, so I had to figure out some fun in-doorsy things to keep my Eli occupied.
I had bought him this "Ele-fun" game for Valentine's Day, but decided it may need to make its debut a couple of days early. We all had a lot of fun playing this silly game. :)
We also colored....
Finger painted....
Baked cupcakes....
The final product....
And made these little Valentines for Eli's class. They say "I dig you" with little beach shovels attached. :)
We then enjoyed a comforting meal. I made pot roast, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn and homeade bread....
And of course had to try Eli's cupcakes :)

We celebrated Valentine's Day at school on the actual day, Tuesday.
We did a Math activity using candy hearts....
We also made "Love Bugs."
The Second Grade has a reputation to uphold for always having such AWESOME hallway displays, so the team got pretty creative with the Valentine's theme. Parker Elementary's Magnet theme is International Studies. Our students will all learn French, Chinese, Spanish and German during their time at Parker. The Second Grade decided to each take a language for their class to write about what love means to them in that language.
The hallway looked GREAT!

The next weekend I had a 3 day weekend because of President's Day. Woo hoo! I made this weekend all about undies for Eli. He really is good about telling me when he needs to use the potty and I just need to get him out of the diapers. So we made a big thing about it. I took him to Target and let him pick out some "big boy undies."
Of course he picked out the ones with Cars on them... hehe
He thought he was soooo cool in his big boy undies....
He also picked out a box of Raisin Bran, so was pretty excited about that.... LOL
The future blackmail photo....
That Saturday it was rainy (again), so I pulled something out of my crativity hat to keep my Eli entertained. I covered a shoe box with some wrapping paper and let him decorate it with Mardi Gras baubles. He had so much fun!

On Monday, the weather was BEAUTIFUL! I invited my friend Jenny and her little girl, Sophia, to play at the park.
We had such a great day! I am looking forward to getting our little ones together again soon.

My wonderful Mommy's birthday is February 7th. Sadly, I didn't get to celebrate with her on her actual birthday. My Mom and Dad came to visit the last weekend in February, so we celebrated then. :)
So Nana and Super Pop Pop showed up with this super cool Cars COAT for Eli. They saw it and thought of him. My Mom made sure to buy it bigger so it will fit him next winter because by this time, it was too hot to wear a coat. Well, it has CARS on it. Needless to say, Eli wasn't taking it off....
Thank you Nana and Pop Pop for the AWESOME coat!
Eli couldn't wait any longer and wanted Nana to open her presents right away! :)
For my Mommy's birthday meal, I made a colorful salad, Tilapia with Cilantro Lime topping, cornbread and green beans....
I also made her a New York style cheesecake with strawberry topping for her birthday dessert....
Happy Birthday Mommy! We love you very much and had a fabulous time celebrating with you! xoxo
