Festive Fall :)

The Fall season is my favorite time of year. I just love everything about it.... the apples (McIntosh are the best!), picking out the "perfect" pumpkin, the colors and of course, Halloween.

Halloween has always been a day I look so forward to celebrating! It dates back to when I was a child. Being a November 1st baby, I would have Halloween themed birthday parties when I was little. I remember all of my neighborhood friends coming in costume....we would bob for apples and my Mom would make Halloween cupcakes. So I guess during this time of year my inner child comes out. I always look forward to decorating the house and dressing up in costume.

This year was the first year Eli was old enough to participate in Halloween festivities (last year he was only 2 weeks old on Halloween). I found him the most adorable monster costume ever!

I wish I could say he loved the costume as much as Mommy did...sadly, he HATED it! Poor little guy did not want that monster thing on his head!! Haha.

He loved wearing his costume as long as the head piece was not on.

Charlie and I also had a small get together to celebrate. I really love to decorate! Of course my house is always cutesy Halloween, with smiling pumpkins and such...but for our party with friends I like to put up my spooky decorations!

Of course a requirement was everyone had to dress up!! I thought all the costumes were GREAT!!

Fred and Wilma (a.k.a. Mom and Dad)...

I LOVE my crazy family!!

We all know a party isn't a party without GAMES!! It is kind of a running joke between my friends and family at just how serious I am about these games.

The first game we played bought out the elementary teacher in me. :) I cut out jack-o-lantern pieces for them to put together a picture using glue sticks. The catch was they had to do it blindfolded. Only their partner saw what the finished picture was supposed to look like. The partner was only allowed to say 6 words to help the blindfolded person, "up, down, left, right, no, yes."

This game ended up being HILARIOUS!!

Poor Samantha, she had Chris as a partner (and he was supposed to guide her) and her finished picture ended up like this... haha

Alexis was the winner :)

We also played a game called "Chubby Pumpkin." This game is a MUST at the annual Webb Halloween Party. Basically the goal is to get the most marshmallows (the Jet Puffed big ones) in your mouth. In between each marshmallow, you have to say "Chubby Pumpkin." I will spare you the photos from that game...pictures of people gagging on marshmallows aren't exactly pretty to look at. haha.

Finally, we voted on the "Best Costume." I am proud to announce, for the second year in a row, my brother wins the title again!

Along with all of the fun Halloween festivities at home, we had fun at school too!! :)

The Third Grade students made character pumpkins and displayed them at the school.

This was our class pumpkin, "Junie B. Jones."

We also did an estimation activity for Math using pumpkin seeds. My kiddos had a blast playing in the "pumpkin guts!"

During the month of October, we had a "Say No to Drugs" door decorating contest at my school. I decided to incorporate a Halloween theme and came up with "Drugs are Batty!" Each of my students made a bat using their handprints and signed the door. I thought our classroom door looked awesome!

Eli had a fun Halloween day at school too! The kiddos at his school were allowed to wear their costumes that Friday. Knowing how strongly he disliked his monster costume and it really would be too hot to wear all day, I found him a cute skeleton sweatsuit to wear. :) They had a Fall Festival with games and treats for the kids. It really was a fun day for sweet Eli.

Eli at school in the morning...

The smile on his little face just makes my heart melt!! I just love my Eli to pieces! :)
