New Beginnings..... :)

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions. Starting back at work, as much as I love the start of the schoolyear, has been bittersweet. One of the "perks" of the teaching profession is the summer vacation. I never appreciated my summer off as much as I did this past summer. The time I was able to spend with Eli was a gift. I loved spending each and every day with him--watching him grow, discover and learn new things each day. :)

Recently, I had a difficult decision to make regarding Eli's daycare. He was in a very loving atmosphere and was very close to work. However, I am the only person who can pick him up (since I teach in Galveston and it is a FAR drive for everyone). I debated for a few days and decided to look into a few other childcare places. I found this INCREDIBLE Montessouri School right by the house! They happened to have an opening, so we really lucked out. Eli is with a small group of babies ages 7-11 months and he has three wonderful teachers. He is soooo happy when I go to pick him up each and every day!

Eli dressed and ready to go on the first day of his new school...

Along with Eli changing his school, Mommy had a change at work. As most of you know, I changed grade levels and now teach 3rd grade. I LOVE it!!! I actually did my student teaching in 3rd grade. I really like the age and love that I get to teach more. It is also fun that I know the children since I taught 2nd grade last year. I actually have two students in my class who I taught last year. I joked and told them they were "jipped-getting stuck with the same teacher two years in a row." They both laughed and were very excited to be with me again. :)

I really love to get my classroom set up each year! I always am stressed out and overwhelmed the week before school starts, but somehow it always gets done. I had to switch classrooms this year since I switched grade levels, so I played around on where to place and hang things. I think it all came together in the end....it's bright, colorful and very me.

Some pics of my classroom... :)

Last weekend was Labor Day....Charlie and I were so excited to have a 3 day weekend to relax and enjoy with family and friends!

On Friday Nana and Super Pop Pop were excited to watch Eli while I spent some time with girlfriends. I am so blessed to have such amazing friends! We always have the best time together and there is never a break in laughter. :)

On Saturday we spent time with my family. My Dad made a delicious brisket! Mom made some yummy sides and this super yummy chocolate & raspberry pie! Yummmm....

We also LOVE to play games! We had such a fun time playing "Buzzword" and laughing. :)

Eli also had a fun and busy day....

He spent time with Nana (and Pop Pop)...

Eli also spent time with Uncle Chris, Auntie Samantha and his cousin, Brandon...

He of course spent time with Mommy, Daddy and Lulu...

Eli decided he wanted to play with Farley's ball...

Farley took his ball away (those are real tears!)...

Poor Eli...

So we put the dogs outside...

Eli decided he wanted them to come back in.... haha

The next day, Eli spent some time playing in his pool. :) I have the most adorable video footage of him jumping up and laughing, but he was diaper free, so I don't want to post that online. I will save it to embarrass him one day. :)

While Eli took his nap that afternoon, I set up my new coupon organizer! I am such a NERD, I know. I just get soooo excited with coupons! I love the doubling and online matching. So I went to Hobby Lobby on a 40% off coupon day and they had an additional 10% off of stationary and boxes. So I just had to share with you my $3.00 coupon organizer that I am super excited about!

It is crazy how everything seems to move in fast-forward when you have a little one. Our precious Eli turned 10 months old on August 15th! He really has turned into quite the fearless child. haha. At 9 months, you could tell he would debate on whether or not he wanted to do something (like pull-up, climb over). Now he is crawling over me....to crawl as fast as he can to the bathroom...so he can pull himself up to stand next to the toilet.....so he can lick the toilet paper roll. There is not a second thought about it and it all happens in the blink of an eye. It is all soooo much fun though!! Charlie and I just sit and watch him, wondering what obstacle he will tackle next.

There were a few things I just had to photograph this past month:

I FINALLY was able to find the "Limied Edition Blue Jean Huggies" in Eli's size...

The other purchase I just could not refrain from was a pair of baby Crocs...too cute!

Speaking of Crocs, our baby boy now wears a size 4/5 shoe!! He is growing out of clothes and shoes as fast as I buy them! Eli will not go back to the doctor until his 1 year appointment, so I am unsure about his height and weight.

Here are his Monthly Comparison Photos:

Here are some of the things Eli is doing at 10 months old:

*Eli will pull himself up to stand! (It does make Mommy nervous when he does this in the bathtub though)
*He LOVES to do this little bouncy dance when he is standing and there is music playing. It is the cutest thing ever!
*He will point to designs, patterns, buttons, etc. I am wearing.
*Eli tries to mimic what you say. There have been a couple of times he has said a crystal clear word--"bye," "hi," "okay" and "doggy."
*He drinks from his Sippy Cup all day when he is at home and has a bottle before bed at night. His teacher told me today he "tries to drink out of the other babies Sippy Cups," so starting Monday that is what I will be sending him with. :)
*He stands unsupported. Such a big boy!
*Eli is eating all kinds of foods now! He loves blueberry waffles, noodles, real banana, graham crackers, animal crackers, soft cheese, yogurt....
*Eli still loves his naps! However, at school he only takes 1 nap instead of 2. He doesn't want to miss out on anything--haha.
*Eli is soooo snuggly when he is sleepy! He will pull himself up into Mommy or Daddy's lap and just cuddle. These are the moments when you wish life had a "pause" button. :)
