Eli's First Christmas!

The past couple of weeks are a wonderful blur... everything went by way too fast. At times I wished I had the power to just freeze time in order to enjoy it just a bit longer.

Christmas Eve we planned to attend church service. However, the weather took us by surprise! It was incredibly windy and just too cold to even think about taking Eli out of the house. We also started thinking about how Eli may not be okay with being held during an hour and a half service. We look forward to going next year when he is a little bit older. We decided to stay in, watch movies and enjoy our family. :)

Christmas morning was so much fun! Santa sure was good to sweet Eli!

Eli opening his stocking...

Eli had a Texas A&M beanie in his stocking. I wonder how Santa knew?? :)

Charlie helped Lulu open her stocking. She LOVES Christmas and gets soooo excited!!

Someone had told me about a website (www.etsy.com) awhile back. This website is AWESOME!! They have all kinds of cute, original, fun gifts that are handmade and you can get personalized. I found a lady on the website who handpaints and personalizes piggy banks. She handpainted Eli a nautical themed one to match his nursery. I was so nervous it wasn't going to arrive in time for Christmas, but it ended up on my doorstep on Christmas Eve. :)

She did such a great job...

After we finished opening gifts, we got dressed and packed up to head to Cypress to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family.

Eli and I dressed up Christmas morning...

We arrived at my parents house early Christmas afternoon. They were soooo excited to see Eli! They hadn't seen him since early December, so they were amazed at how much he has grown and how much more alert he is now.

One of the things I love to do is find the perfect, humorous gift for my brother. I just love Chris's expression when something catches him off guard.

Since he is "Mr. Computer Guy," I found him this tee shirt...

Charlie and I bought Chris and Samantha a juicer they had registered for as their wedding gift. As a joke, I wrapped up some apples and half a lemon. I thought it was soooo funny! When he opened the fruit I said, "I thought you could use those in your juicer!" What made it so hilarious was the lemon had gone bad since it had been wrapped for a few days.

Chris is such a good sport...

My nephew, Brandon, had the best time opening his presents! It was fun watching him. He had such a wonderful Chritmas! He was smiling the entire day. Brandon was also very excited because he LOVES Lulu and plays with her whenever we visit. By the end of our visit, Lulu tries to find a place to hide to sleep because she is worn out.

Brandon and Lulu...

Eli had such a special first Christmas! He received some very sweet and thoughtful gifts. :)

Charlie especially liked his first pair of cowboy boots from Nana and Super Pop Pop...

He also received his first pair of sunglasses from Santa in his stocking...

These are a couple of my favorite pictures from Christmas morning at the Nuber's...

After we enjoyed family time and a delicious meal at the Nuber's we headed to the Woodlands for Christmas with the Brenner's. We had such a nice visit with Mom, Bob, Alison and David. Of course, everyone was excited to see Mr. Eli! :)

Paw Paw and Eli..

Grammy, Eli, Charlie and Wayne (the cat)...

Auntie Alison, Uncle David and Eli...

Alison LOVES to spoil her nephew! She has bought him some of the coolest, most unique gifts. My favorite was a recent gift which came from Alison's trip to Wisconsin. Yes, she bought Eli his first "cheesehead!"

This one is for Auntie Alison...

After a night of fun conversation and delicious rocky road cake that Mom Brenner made(soooo yummy!!), we said our "good-bye's."

We had such a nice Christmas and feel so blessed to have such loving families who take the time to make the holidays so special.

Happy Holidays to you and yours!
